The point is consumer have the right to choose what I have to use.

If I think 833 is expensive, I have the right to choose not to use it but to use other mobiles. If this time, I am not using 903 but LG880, it is still my right to choose. Unless I didn't breach the law.

Honestly, what SV really does nothing wrong. However, why must be in this time while everybody is upsetting they change the contract terms, and keep making SV users upset for another forbiddance to use V903 (flashed to 833)

But why not did this when everybody was using 902 flashed 813... then I really don't understand.

Should they stop people from using imported mobiles, they should have done last year when they released 813. But not after 833 released and changed all the conditions lor...

Because once, twice, 3 times, they will really force customer leave. This is everybody can foresee... and I can see what they do now is not "dai fong" enough for such a quite a scale company lor...

I agree that SMV is not wrong to against water goods. After all, they have paid $$$ for exlcusive rights so they want to protect their investment.

I dont understand people's reaction about 'Exclusive' . Its not new in anyway......

HK CableTV paid for the exclusive rights for English Premier League, World Cup ....etc. And they do what they can to make sure people cannot watch these programmes without paying them. Remember those decoder in Ap Liu Street? They are no longer exist because Cable invested in another technology for encryption so that people can't build a decoder for watching Cable programmes. People have to accept this! (or already accepted this) Otherwise, people can choose not to watch.

Going forward, SMV and Sharp can do the similar thing by upgrading the technology so that imported water goods cannot function in HK. Its technically easy, I believe. Although they may not take this step.

Water goods are not banned but people shouldn't expect a 100% identical product as you buy from local authorised seller. Just like Mercedes-Benz, you could buy from water goods car dealer instead of Zung Fu, but the specification are not exactly the same. Same logic apply to some computer, AV products.....etc. It has been the case for years.

So, SMV is now reminding consumers if you buy from SMV, you will get Chinese firmware. If you buy water goods, you should get Eng/Jap firmware.

We are unhappy but we might have to live with it. Of course people can in return making SMV unhappy by not using their service, its still free to do so.
