I plan to buy a 26" or 27"LCDTV, any recommendation ?
I see many small brand sell around HK$7,000, price is very attractive, is it good to buy.
what model is that? any specification available on web?
Without knowing what you are having in mind right now, I would like to remind you of several things.
(1) go for wide screen aspect ratio if possible, these panels are made for entertainment specifically, and will be better for video. The cheaper 4:3 model use LCD panel for commercial display, which is not as good when come to video playback
(2) DVI and multiple Progressive Component video inputs are desirable.
(3) when go for model that emphasis on high contract ratio panel, pay special attention to the white screen, make sure it is not too bright, and most important, make sure it is even. Check out the corners especially. Sometimes small brand will try to increase their contrast ratio rating by using extra bright back light, this will end up with not so vivid colour and uneven lighting (brighter at center area), or in the worst case, you can actually see the four backlight FL tube shadow if you look carefully.
(4) Don't be fooled by the fast respond rate figure, try it with actual movie example with horizontal pan and vertical pan shot, there is no standard in measuring refresh rate and the figure is misleading, not really directly relate to the quality of picture.
