Understand. WM really not my cup of tea also, just the plan need to renew while $1580 for a 1Ghz smartphone seems good price with $168 plan and 150MB data.
Another reason why i will get this phone is the SnapDragon platform from different vendor are still using the OEM board. This means there will be a big chance it will support different platform. The HTC HD2 is one of the example and I'm looking forward on the Android ROM on this device.
Flashing smartphone is more like a hobbies to me on fine tuning it. This can create a lot of attention during the gathering with friends / visitors.

Thank you for sharing the link and method. For myself, I do not have HD2 since WM is not my cup of tea. But I think somebody in IMA may have i8000, so i share this information for them.
